EmForge Lite is in limited support now - only critical bugs are fixed or new features for critical customers are implemented.
For now we planning new feature in one with with RSS for wiki-pages fixed.
I do not think any big features will be added into EmForge Lite.
Development are concentrated on EmForge Portal

Hi!

Only "admin" user is able to create new project.
To create new project you need to login as Admin, go to projects page and then on the top you will see "New Project" link

I was able to install emForge (nice installer by the way) have the application up and running, created a new user account for myself have clicked around in the application read some things and I can't figure out how to create new projects! I can figure out how to navigate to the new task form but how do I create new projects?! - Duncan

You can read our tutorial about workflow development for EmForge Lite, it has one poge related to using of roles in workflow: http://www.emforge.net/web/emforge-lite/wiki/-/wiki/Main/WorkflowAndEmForgeRoles

You can also use standard workflows as reference (for example how new feature is assigned for Development for implementation). Their sources available in svn: https://emforge.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/emforge/EmForge/trunk/emforge-processes/

Yes, you should use "swimlanes" for it - since make assignment of task into swimlane in your jBPM process definition - and this task will be assigned to specific role and be visible for all users in this role like "my task"

Hi guys,
I´ve been using Emforge for some weeks now with no big problems, but today I tried to connect my Eclipse Galileo (PHP version) to the Emforge engine but failed

I tried to download the connector from the url: https://emforge.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/emforge/emforge-mylyn/trunk/update-site/
When I select in my Eclipse "MyLyn Connector: EmForge 0.28.0.200812111421" I get the next error:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: MyLyn Connector: EmForge 0.28.0.200812111421 (org.emforge.mylyn_feature.feature.group 0.28.0.200812111421)
Missing requirement: MyLyn Connector: EmForge 0.28.0.200812111421 (org.emforge.mylyn_feature.feature.group 0.28.0.200812111421) requires 'org.apache.xmlrpc [3.0.0,4.0.0)' but it could not be found

The result, no connector was downloaded, no connection to the EmForge posible.

I´m using Emforge 0.35 in Tomcat 5.5

Thanks that provides some information but does not fix the overall registration issue.

OK - The one on the login page is the only register link - got it. So that explains cause number 2) as I was looking for one while logged in as admin.
However I was doing this because the link does not work. It simply redirects me back to the login page - nothing shows up in catalina indicating an error. And I believe I have registration enabled [security.registerAllowed=true] so that eliminates cause number 1). But I am still unable to register users. Perhaps I can acquire more information. Where is the property to increase logging located?

Again, I believe I have it enabled in classes/config.properties so I do not know why the link on the login page does not work.

If you can provide any other advice I would be most appreciative.

It looks very strange - since it part of functionality what always worked. Just a question - then you do not see 'Register" link - are you logged-in into EmForge. there are only two cases then registration is not displayed:
1. Registration is not allowed through configuration
2. User already logged-in

The welcome page indicates that I need to clock [click] on the "Register" link at the top of the page. However I do not have a register link.
I have checked conf file located at /usr/local/tomcat/webapps/EmForge/WEB-INF/classes/config.properties and ensured that registerAllowed is set to true (see snipit below) but, again, I do not have a link for adding users - so how do I add users? I would just dump users into the table but the password hashes I have used thus far are not the ones you use so if I could get the password hash that would be cool. Also do I need to set related records into the settings and role tables? Are there any "required"fields I should know about? Etc., etc., etc. Or, better, is there a way to gain the link?

Hi!
Tomcat 5.0 is pretty old - I never test EmForge with it and not sure it will work
Development of EmForge is done with using Tomcat 6 - so, it is preferred server. Also it should work with Tomcat 5.5 (but still Tomcat 6 is preferred)

Thanks for Reply. As per ur instructions I downloaded latest war file from the link u refered. I deployed it to tomcat5. when i accessed http://localhost:8080/EmForge/ it gave following error

Hi Wasim!
This bug was already reported (#1) and fixed. Fixed version available in trunk, as well as WAR file to download and deploy into your app server available for download.

Unfortunately, I will able to prepare new windows installed only in 2-3 weeks. Until then you can try to get sources and build EmForge by yourself, or download war and deploy it into tomcat (both required some knowledge in J2EE technologies).

its wasim. Em forge is really good application

I am using it for experimentation to make a decision about using it with my application or not. while using i created few users, few projects. i created a task and assigned it to another user. now when both users, the assignee and to whom it has been assigned, cannot list the tasks. java.lang.NullPointerException occures (see the details in attached file).

also when i log in with any third user, and unchecked the option "tasks assigned to me", the same error occurred. i am using windows installer for Em Forge. Help will be appreciated.

Hi! Yes, you need to give more memory for your tomcat.
To use EmForge you need to use options like "-Xmx256m -XXermSize=128m" then you run tomcat (or you can set bigger values if it will be not enough)

I have increase memory allowed for my VMWARE server and added an other webapps "LUTECE", and now i could not launch Emforge Again !
I think i need allow JVM memory and HEAP SPACE
